I am a predominately self taught wood worker who enjoys learning how to use traditional carpentry techniques and tools. I like to make my own tools and jigs, these help me understand how they are designed to work and get the best out of them.
I was fortunate enough to have an inspiring, if slightly unorthodox, carpentry teacher at school many years ago. All techniques had to be mastered with hand tools before we were permitted to use any powered tools. Here I learnt the basic techniques and joints, which I still practice to this day.
Each time I create a new project I try to learn or improve a skill to go with it.
Hopefully I’ll be able to pass some of this knowledge on to others through these pages.
